Everyone's here to grade in Kansas City (2015)

Sung to the tune of "Kansas City" from Oklahoma

Lyrics by Don Blaheta

Recit (new acorn):
I got to Kansas City on a Wensd'y
By Thursd'y I had learned a thing or two
For up to then I didn't have an i-dee
of what the AP reading people do.

I counted twenty booklets of AP student work
Almost every time I grabbed a pack
'Nen they showed me how to score, and "bubble" (don't you smirk)
And the reading it proceeded right on track

What tasks? What tasks?

Verses:
Everyone's here to grade in Kansas City
the problems that the students had to code
One said to build an interface and then to build a Range
about as big as a number ought to grow!

Everything's like a dream in Kansas City
We work amidst an endless folder flow
In 2 a game of Mastermind evaluates a guess
with letters in their proper spot or somewhere in the rest
so a hint says that you're very close or maybe rather less!

These problems that the students had to code,
four problems that the students had to code.

Everyone's here to grade in Kansas City,
the problems that the students had to code
The third one spec'ed a matrix class without 2D arrays
their lists have entries with value, col, and row!

One of the tasks was static methods only,
comparing sums above to sums below
Two methods got the sums of rows (the second used the first)
A third one looked for duplicates, adjacent or dispersed,
and if all the sums were different then the grid was judged diverse!

These problems that the students had to code,
four problems that the students had to code.
